Dragon*Con Comics and Pop Art truly raises the bar in 2010, continuing its mission to deliver a top-notch weekend of excitement and fun for fans of visual entertainment!

With appearances by some of the most popular names in comics, animation, designer toys, sketch cards, entertainment illustration and more, this year’s lineup reads like a virtual “who’s who” of fan favorites – featuring close to 100 creators:

While Kei Acedera, Glenn Barr, J. Scott Campbell, Joe Capobianco, Bobby Chiu, Olivier Coipel, Camilla d’Errico,  Brian Despain, Kelley Jones, Jason Limon, Dan May, Mike McKone,  Tim Sale, Rob Schwager, Shag, Greg “Craola” Simkins, Paul Smith, and comics legend Neal Adams make their inaugural visits, returning favorites The Baroness, Mark Brooks, Matt Busch, Colin Christian, Sas Christian, Darwyn Cooke, Amanda Conner, Doktor A., Carlos East, Chandra Free, Huck Gee, Cully Hamner, Tony Harris,Georges Jeanty, Travis Louie, Laura Martin, Randy Martinez, Mike Mignola, Kathie Olivas, Jimmy Palmiotti, George Perez, Brandt Peters, Chris Ryniak, Brian Stelfreeze, Karl Story, Denise Vasquez, Dexter Vines, Derek Yaniger and many, many more join us in Comics and Pop Artist Alley for what may  be the most exciting roster of attending artists in D*C history!

In addition to signings, panels and programming, attendees to this year’s event will have the opportunity to once again attend the Comics and Pop Art Reception, taking place Friday evening – September 3 - and featuring convention-exclusive releases, music, mingling, giveaways, contests, special announcements and the “Talkin’ Walken” Christopher Walken sound-alike contest!

Other special events taking place as part of Dragon*Con Comics and Pop Art include:

• Shag-themed party, featuring a special appearance by Shag!
• “Art of Akira” original art exhibit, featuring a special Dragon*Con commemorative print release and an exclusive selection of artwork available for view ONLY at Dragon*Con!
• Exclusive Dragon*Con art  releases from dozens of guest creators – unique items designed especially for Dragon*Con attendees and not available at any other event!
• Marvel Comics Original Art Gallery! True believers can come by all day on Saturday in Artists’ Alley as your hosts will be displaying original Marvel comic book art both new and old for your favorite characters and artists. Face front and come see classic art by “Nefarious” Neal Adams, “Big” John Buscema, Gene “The Dean” Colan, “Shy” Steve Ditko, “Dazzling” Don Heck, Jack “King” Kirby, “Jazzy” Johnny Romita, “Wonderous” Werner Roth , “Darlin” Dick Ayers and “Gorgeous” George Tuska to name a few. Do you like “The New Breed?”, we’ll have them covered too! Frank Cho, Mark Brooks, Todd McFarlane, Ed McGuinnness, Dexter Vines, Charles Vess and many more. There will be Silver , Bronze and Modern Age Marvel covers, classic origin pages, Spider-Man swinging and Thor throwing Mjolnir. If you look closely, maybe you will see a shrinking Ant-Man, too.
